If you are new to Internet marketing, especially web site promotion, you probably have heard about the “Google Analytics.” But you may not know how to activate it on your WordPress site. Google’s unique tool, Google Analytics, enables website owners to keep track of visitors and other site statistics. But many site owners don’t use this tool, or even know how to turn it on.
Analytics is not just a tool for tracking visitors. It can also be used to determine where your traffic is coming from, how they found your site, and what pages they found most interesting. These data can help you determine where you need to focus your site marketing efforts the most. You may find that you’re losing money on some of your most popular pages. By knowing how your visitors came to your site, you’ll be better able to target them with content and special offers.
You can’t just activate Google Analytics on a whim. Before you do anything else, you need to make sure that you are able to access the tool from every computer on the Internet that has an Internet connection. (For even faster functionality, you may want to consider using a program such as My-SQL that allows you to connect to multiple servers.) The more computers that your visitors have access to the site, the more accurate your tracking results will be. Also, it’s best to run the Google Analytics software on a regular basis so you will be able to keep track of new features and enhancements that are added.
Once the “activate tracking everywhere” option becomes active, Google Analytics will begin tracking your visitors. In particular, it will record which pages of your site are most popular. You should be able to view these statistics on any website that uses Google’s official add-on. However, if you want to view them on a separate page, you should open a separate Google tab for the site. It should look like this:
Once your site is ready to see the details of your visitors, go to the section where you can find the various types of information. Under the section known as “Google Analytics,” you will see a wide variety of different reports. You can choose which ones you want to view by clicking on the appropriate “igate to” icon. These include basic information such as the number of unique visitors to your site, the number of page views per visit, and the referral activity of your site.
